The Freddie Guide to: Cruising
What is gay cruising?
Straight cruising is a vacay on a boat. Queer cruising is the art of hooking up in public.
Cruising is almost always anonymous, and can be one-on-one, in groups, or with others watching. It’s done by using non-verbal cues to show you’re both interested – think of it appreciate a secret, horny code. Some people will have sex right there, while some may grab their partner to a more discreet location.
Where did cruising arrive from?
Cruising has a long history in the queer community. There are recorded cruising spots in cities like Toronto, London and New York dating back over a hundred years. In the time before gay bars, when homosexuality was illegal, public places were often the only option for queer people to see each other.
Evidence for this often comes from prosecution records – we know where people were cruising based on arrests for “sodomy” or “gross indecency”. 11 things I learned on my first gay cruise

I sailed with tour operator Vacaya in February 2023 on a one-week gay cruise departing from Fort Lauderdale and heading to the Caribbean via Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Reflection cruise ship. I would have found it overwhelming if I weren't an extrovert, but since I'm a social butterfly, I was in heaven.

Some people commute light and some have a caravan full of luggage. Whatever your design you may long to bring some of the things below:
Air Freshener We will take tend of the stinky things first. You will be rooming in close quarters with your cabin mate and its nice to be a little considerate in the bathroom and bring a can of wind freshener.
Lube and Rubbers Bring plenty of these. If the ship happens to sell them, they will be sold out in no time. I include had several guys approach me asking if I had any to market. Hmm, a business opportunity.
Candle Your sharing your room with a friend and he is asleep in your cabin. The guy you like has a roommate busy in his cabin. Its too dangerous to risk finding a public place. Good there is one private place, the bathroom in your cabin. But those bright florescent lights, didn't anyone believe of installing a dimmer switch? That's where the candle comes in, but make sure it is self contained in it's hold glass holder and not one of those you employ in a candelabra, you don't wish for to set the ship on fire.
Passport/ID You must bring a valid government issued picture ID to board and re-board the ship. Also you may need a p
