“Gay” has managed to become simultaneously cool and loathed, depending on what part of society you ask. Any iconic, unreal hero you make a movie about now is going to get the whole “He’s gay!” treatment. If they make that new Indiana Jones production people will be saying Indy is gay.

So, in a way, anyone that has an invasively secret being is gay. 'Kinda, sorta Gay. That is, if you’re gay and still closted.
If anything, the only “gayness” in Superman is that he is, prefer Batman, or John Wayne, an example of idealised masculinity.
Then again, Batman does have his younger, “male ward.”
As for the slash references, there are slash references for pretty much everybody. There’s likely a Captain Kangaroo/M Last week, I wrote a post regarding a Los Angeles Times article called “How will a gay icon navigate at the box office?”* — which was written in response to a cover story about SUPERMAN RETURNS that appeared in the Advocate, a homosexual magazine. The basic gist of the Times article was that Superman (an isolated outsider living a double life) appeals to homosexual viewers, but Warner Brothers would possess to be precise in their marketing of the movie if they wanted to reach this audience without alienating mainstream viewers. Apparently, the LA Times article added fuel to a fire that had been burning on the Internet since the Advocate cover story, which had sparked rumors that SUPERMAN returns would portray the Man of Steel as gay. This must have set off alarm bells over at Warners, because (according to a Reuters article posted at Yahoo News [no longer available]) the film’s director, Bryan Singer, issued a denial on Friday, insisting that Superman is in fact “probably the most heterosexual traits in any production I’ve ever made.” This rather unprecedented declaration almost sounds appreciate a case of protesting too much. The Reuters article fails to speak of tha James Gunn has finally released the DC Universe’s upcoming slate and the fans can finally seize a breath of relief. The slate will not only display new characters but, continue the story of many. Robert Pattinson’s The Batman Part II has been greenlit and would be realized in the Autumn of 2025. The first chapter of the DCU slate is called ‘Gods and Monsters’ and will begin with Superman: Legacy. The franchise wishes to combine the world of gaming, television, and movies as adequately as the world of animation and live-action. Both the series of Joker and Batman with Joaquin Phoenix and Pattinson will belong outside of the main DC universe and will be referred to as the DC Elseworlds. One of the projects that will be in the works would be The Authority. We were all especially curious to see the film’s depiction of the boyhood farm of Clark Kent/Superman as these scenes were filmed on the plains nearby the village of Breeza, 25 miles south of our hometown of Gunnedah, New South Wales.
As the June 22 Namoi Valley Independent reports: “At the heart of the film is Superman’s boyhood abode, recreated on a property in the Breeza district, where hundreds of production crew, stunt artists, construction workers, caterers and others spent several months on location. Several Gunnedah businesses were committed in the Breeza filming – among them HE Silos and Torrens Plumbing. Gunnedah Shire Council also played a role, constructing gravel and sealed roads in the vicinity of the farmhouse. The sets included a farmhouse and barn, silos and a crop of corn grown specifically for the film.”
