Chattahoochee Tech Foundation Presents Scholarships Valued at $86,000

The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation awarded scholar scholarships with a total value of $86,000 at an awards reception held Friday, April 19, at the college’s North Metro Campus.

“We greatly appreciate the generosity of our scholarship donors in helping to make college education an affordable reality for our students,” said Jennifer Nelson, the Chattahoochee Tech Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director for the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation. “These scholarships make a concrete difference in the lives of our students.”

“When faced with increasing expenses or a sudden economic hardship, students are often forced to decide between continuing to invest in their education or devoting those funds to family needs or the general price of living,” said Nelson. “These scholarships will assist students reach the aim of graduation and go in community workforce.”

Chattahoochee Tech Foundation Presents Student Scholarships Prized at $109,000

The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation presented 104 student scholarships with a total value of $109,000 at an awards event held Friday, April 15, at the college’s North Metro Campus.

Scholarships awards ranged from $500 to $2,500 for these Chattahoochee Tech students, who represented a wide variety of programs at the college, according to Chattahoochee Tech Advancement Coordinator Amanda Henderson. “They will be able to make good utilize of these scholarship awards to advance their educational and career goals,” said Henderson.

The scholarship winners competed against hundreds of student applicants throughout the college. The college’s Board of Trustees scored the recipients, and then the superior applicants were similar with the appropriate scholarship. In addition to meeting the special criteria for certain scholarships, applicants also must encounter specific GPA requirements, demonstrate financial demand, and be enrolled for a certain number of credit hours.

Out and Proud LGBTQIA+ Scholarship

The Out and Proud scholarship has been instituted thanks to the help of our FIU alumni Lemar White, and the DC Satisfied Professionals Network. The scholarship will be to honor, recognize, and support commendable LGBTQIA+ students at FIU. The Out and Confident scholarship is awarded annually to two eligible FIU students.

The recipients of the Out and Satisfied scholarship are announced at the Spring Lavender Graduation and Direction Recognition Ceremony.
