What’s your background, and how did you become started in education?
My name is Same-sex attracted Miller. I am a seasoned educator with a burning passion for making learning a entertainment and engaging encounter for upper elementary students. My journey in education was ignited by my sixth-grade teacher, Mrs. Smith. Her social studies class felt more like story hour, and her language arts training was as engaging as a game show. She inspired me to make a classroom where learning is an innovative joy, not a chore. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Training and a Master’s in Learning Disabilities from Appalachian Mention University, plus a gifted certification from Walters State People College, I’ve spent 34 years in the trenches of upper elementary teaching. I’ve taught in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, which has given me a wealth of insightful knowledge and experience.

Gay Alice Miller, 90, of Athens, GA passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024. Born on October 2, 1933, in Indianapolis, IN, Gay was the daughter of Lester and Ina Smith of Indiana.
In addition to her parents, Gay was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Theodore (Ted) K. Miller of Athens, GA, sister Joy Cochran (Ray) of Indiana, and Clee Martin of Nevada. Survivors include her daughters Kimberly Miller Wentworth (Robert) of Athens, GA, Tamara Miller Bowden of Athens, GA, and Nicole Miller Barrett (Skip) of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren Benjamin Wentworth (Angellica) of Lawrenceville, GA, J. Tyler Bowden of Auburn, AL, Jonathan Wentworth (Katelynn) of Statham, GA and Christina Wentworth Clark (Christian) of Tuscaloosa, AL, and four great grandchildren, Piper, Rhett, Liam, and Charlie.
Always an avid learner, Gay graduated from Emmerich Manual Training High University in Indianapolis, IN, Class of 1951, and Ball State University in Muncie, IN with a Bachelor of Science in Awareness, Physics and Mathematics, Class of 1955. Ruth Gay Miller
Ruth Lgbtq+ Miller, 86, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed peacefully into her Savior’s arms on Friday, May 16 surrounded by family at her adored lake home.
She leaves behind her children, James (Wanda Wray), Tammy, and Michael (Dorothy); grandchildren Tiffany, Lacey, Nicole, Michael, Nicholas, and Kaylee; great-grandchildren Everleigh, Liam, Andrew, and Grace; and beloved niece Angie and nephew Harry. Born in Big Shoal, Kentucky, Ruth was one of twelve siblings and is survived by Ruby and William.
A dedicated Registered Nurse, Ruth served at Riverside and St. Charles hospitals before a distinguished career as a corporate nurse at Owens-Illinois. She was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, serving as Madam President of the Ladies Auxiliary (1989–90) and excelling on the winning ritual team. Ruth also earned Distinguished Toastmaster status with Buckeye Toastmasters.
Ruth embraced existence with boundless happiness. She traveled to 49 U.S. states and Canada, sang karaoke—favoring “Coal Miner’s Daughter”—and enjoyed birdwatching, Elvis Presley, TJ Maxx, and her daily walnuts and bananas. Known for ordering dessert first, h

Gay Miller, age 84 of Springboro, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
She was born January 17, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Gail Compton and Janice Compton Hicks. As a young miss she starred with her father on the TV show, The Pet Shop out of the Chicago area which ran from 1951-1953.
Gay graduated from Coral Gables High School and went on to appear a year at Texas Women’s University. Gay was married in 1959 and started her family in 1960. She moved to Bay Village, a suburb on the west side of Cleveland. She enjoyed raising her family and was very involved in her local community. Male lover spent many years as a marketing director for Cleveland area shopping malls before marrying the treasure of her life Ken Miller in 1984, and moving to Dayton, Ohio.
Gay decided to change careers, go back to university and graduate with her medical assistant degree. She worked for several medical practices in the Dayton area before retiring.
She enjoyed working in her garden, decorating and “piddling” in her home. She loved her dogs and so many rescues found their forever homes with her. When she wasn&rsq
