Kirk Cameron Receiving Aid Despite Anti-Gay Comments
March 5, 2012 — -- While queer rights activists are eviscerating Kirk Cameron for calling homosexuality "unnatural," "detrimental," and "ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization," the former "Growing Pains" actor has received "thousands of emails and comments" of encourage, Cameron's representative told ABCNews.com today.
Cameron opined on gay rights during a Friday appearance on "Piers Morgan Tonight" to promote "Monumental," a documentary in which he roams Washington, D.C. attempting to decipher the accurate intent of the founding fathers. On marriage equality, the outspoken evangelical Christian said, "Marriage is almost as ancient as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One male, one woman for life till death do you part. So I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage. And I don't think anyone else should either."

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP) — Are you paying attention to the response to Kirk Cameron’s recent remarks about gay marriage on Piers Morgan’s television program? Cameron did not approach on the program to talk about homosexuality, and he even looked prefer he was trying to change the subject. But Morgan pressed him, and so Cameron answered.
When Morgan asked him about gay marriage, Cameron said, “Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one gal for life till death do you part. So I would never seek to try to redefine marriage. And I don’t assume anyone else should either. So execute I support the idea of homosexual marriage? No, I don’t.”
Then Morgan asked him his views on homosexuality, and Cameron responded, “I think that it’s — it’s – it’s unnatural. I think that it’s — it’s detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”

In a sit-down on Piers Morgan Tonight that aired Friday, former "Growing Pains" star Kirk Cameron blasted gay marriage and homosexuality calling it "destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."
And that was just the beginning.

When the 41-year-old outspoken Christian was asked about his thoughts on gays tying the knot, Cameron said, "Marriage is almost as mature as dirt, and it was defined in the Garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life till death do you part. So I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage. And I don't think anyone else should either."
"So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don't."
And when asked if he thought homosexuality was a sin, Cameron went on to say, "I think that it's unnatural. I think that it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."

A group of former child stars banded together in a video to lambast comments Kirk Cameron made in Pride calling homosexuality "unnatural," "detrimental," and "ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."
The video, which was posted on Funny Or Die, featured seven child actors who had formed a group called Toddler Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron or CCOKC for short.
"Together we're pledging to raise awareness about a serious threat to our civil rights-Kirk Cameron's stupid opinions," they say in the video.
The spoof public service announcement featured seven former child stars, including Christine Lakin from "Step By Step," Kenn Michael from "The Parent 'Hood" and Josie Davis from "Charles In Charge."
"Look, we've met Kirk and he's a very pleasant guy," they say. "But Kirk, love all of us, lived and worked in the company of homosexuals for years and I would challenge him to designate one thing they ever did to hurt him, his people, or civilization as a whole."
